What is Low-emissivity (Low-e) glass?

K Glass diagramLow-emissivity glass (or low-e glass as it is commonly referred to) is a type of energy-efficient glass designed to prevent heat escaping out through your windows to the cold outdoors. Low-e glass such as glass from the Pilkington K Glass™ Range and Pilkington Optitherm™ Range have an invisible coating which dramatically reduces heat transfer and reflects interior heat back into your room.

Using a low-e glass in your windows creates a more comfortable environment, helps to save money on your fuel bills and also benefits the environment, by reducing CO2 emissions.
